VOKI LESSON: A great resource that will make our classes a great adventure for learning!

Here I'm sharing with you my Voki lesson plan, I had the chance of doing it with my students by the way, it was a great experience, enjoy it!

ENGLISH LESSON PLAN

Class title: English class

Lesson title: Idiom expressions in english

Grade level: Third grade

Objetives of the lesson:

1. In this section the students will understand how to use some native expressions from the english spoken language into different situations of the common life.

A. Students will develop skills using idiom expressions for showing off a natural spoken english with people.

B. Students will communicate easily with their classmates by using digital resources given by the teacher with the topic of “idiom expressions”.

Materials:

1. Internet connection

2. Classroom’s ZOOM link

3. Voki.com for showing teacher’s example (http://tinyurl.com/y4w7rgzx)

4. English notebook

5. To broaden vocabulary we are using the following web page: https://www.abcya.com/games/hold_the_phone

Class duration: In one section of 30 minutes

Activities: The following activities are based on the EPC, this is the Approach we use in our school for the teaching process with the girls.

EXPLORATION:

- In the zoom smartboard will be placed some common expressions in english and the teacher will ask to the girls: what do you think it means?, where would be possible to use this expression?, please use one in one situation in context.

- Secondly some pictures will be shown and the meaning of IDIOMS will be explained to the girls (they will have the chance of writing it in their notebooks).

GUIDED INVESTIGATION:

- Students will write in their notebooks the information about the IDIOM EXPRESSIONS then some Examples that let them being in context.

- The teacher will show the VOKI character she has created for explaining a situation she is talking about by using an idiom, so it will be asked to the girls for their meaning and what do they think about it

- For some practice they will enter to a website from ABCYA and so some exercises by indentifying some expressions by using pictures, the meaning of them and finally using them in context so that we can attempt as much as it is needed.

MINI PROJECT

- According to the teacher’s instructions, the students will create a VOKI character for next class in which they use a new idiom expression and explain it to the class.
